Hi! I’m Heleen van Soest, 20 years old and a second year bachelor student. After half a year of being secretary, I’m now president of Aktief Slip. I hope to guide the board of your association as good as possible, and to make Aktief Slip an organisation in which you feel free to do whatever you like.
I live in Wageningen with three housemates, but every weekend I travel to “megacity” Klarenbeek! That’s where my parents live, together with my sister and our animals: a horse (which I ride), two very enthusiastic dogs, a dangerous kitten and some chickens.
So one of my hobbies is horseriding, but I also like other sports. Here in Wageningen I go swimming, aqua-fitting, and sometimes I go roller-skating. Due to an injury there aren’t much sports left for me I can do, unfortunately. Furthermore I love playing the piano, which I can only do in Klarenbeek.
I chose Environmental sciences when I was in 5th grade and just joined a tag along day here. After that day I was sure to come here, and I still am! The specialisation within the bachelor I chose is Environmental Quality and System Analysis. I’m especially interested in climate change and will probably take a minor on this subject.
I almost forgot something important: I like cooking and baking, although I wouldn’t call myself a great cook.
